International Blacksmithing Plein Air "Steel Butterfly"

The international blacksmithing plein air "Steel Butterfly" will return to Druskininkai on August 5-8. It is an ongoing project aimed at actualizing, preserving and nurturing the intangible cultural heritage - blacksmithing. Chapel pillars, roof pillars and chapels were decorated with iron tops in Lithuania. Blacksmiths' crosses are important elements of chapels, belfries and churches.

The theme of this year's plein air is the creation of iron tops of memorial monuments from different countries, the use of brass in blacksmithing. Demonstration and education of blacksmithing took place on August 6-7 in Entertaining Square, Druskininkai. Presentation of the plein air exhibition - August 8-September 11 at Crafts Center "Menų kalvė" (M. K. Čiurlionio str. 27, Druskininkai).
