"TIME"

Time is fragmentary - it falls apart and reconstructs itself. Time creates memories. It comes, it passes, it goes. Its fragments are distorted, unstable, they blink and blink. Some parts are missing, some have been replaced, but as long as there are many of them - you see the object, you remember the Times. And when you lose those parts - even one fragment - evidence disappears - Time disappears.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

"TIME" is a series of graphic works depicting fragmented zoomorphic objects, reflecting the "suspended time" of our day. Time stopped by a global pandemic. Nothing remains stable, the concept of society, individuality and reality is changing - the world is trying its best
not collapse.

APPIAS ALBINA is an artist from Vilnius, born in 1984, currently living in Spain. Real name is Yevgenija Jones. Having obtained a Master of Arts degree at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, she worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, jeweler, collaborated in audiovisual projects and developed her own graphic technique. This eclectic background has given her a unique perspective through which she approaches her art, and continues to inspire her penchant for exploration and experimentation.

COAL MONOTYPE

Appias is known for his distinctive carbon monotype technique (graphics), which is based on image transfer using carbon copy paper and heat. Using carbon paper and the heat of an iron, she transfers to paper the smallest details and textures created by man and nature, grouping them into well-defined forms. Appias creates detailed figurative images and the main subject of her art is animals or zoomorphic/anthropomorphic creatures. She seeks to capture the physical expression and nature of the object she creates. An important part of its style is the visual texture of the object from which it is made. She chooses unusual patterns that give a special sound and dynamism to the silhouettes she creates.

Appias works in several different fields and, in addition to one-off experiments, she regularly collaborates on several art projects. Her works can be seen in personal and group exhibitions in various countries.
